"Life is not problematic,
It is the human mind that creates problems. Suffering is not in things...
It is in us"
Anthony de Mello

"Life is not problematic, it is the human mind that creates trouble. Suffering is not in the things but in our minds"

ANTHONY DE MELLO
Anthony de Mello was a prophet, a priest, a guru, a psychologist free thinker who used ideas from other and different religions to make up his own theories. He accepted that his ideas could be changed from one day to the other and that the lectures he gave helped to clarify and even change his own mind. He believed that having no expectations, accepting life as is were tools for a happy free from regrets and discouragements life. He talked about living life to the fullest being aware of the stories the mind makes up taking life away from reality (I remember a comment about boundaries and how people get excited about "their" land) "A free mind lives every second in every second, and that is the secret of living a fulfilled life"

“The Master made it his task
to destroy systematically every doctrine,
every belief, every concept of the divine,
for these things, which were originally intended as pointers,
were now being taken as descriptions".
He loved to quote the Eastern saying
"When the sage points to the moon,
all that the idiot sees is the finger.”
Anthony de Mello
Loneliness
is cured
by contact
with reality

"Life
makes sense when you perceive it as mystery and it makes no sense to the conceptualizing mind"
