He had no religious training since his parents were non-practicing jews. In 1928 strangers began to approach him asking for prayers and healing..
'Joel, I don't know what your religion is, but I do know that if you pray for me, I could get well.'. To seek answers about this phenomenon, Goldsmith entered the Christian Science Church and worked at Rikers Island prison as a First Reader. After 11 years, he left the Christian Science Church and moved to Boston, where he set up his own office.
"Ilumination dissolves all material ties and binds men together with the golden chains of spiritual understanding; it acknowledges only the leadership of the Christ; it has no ritual or rule but the divine, impersonal universal Love; no other worship than the inner Flame that is ever lit at the shrine of Spirit. This union is the free state of spiritual brotherhood. The only restraint is the discipline of Soul.
MARY BAKER EDDY
The kind, patients with no hope, and the number of healings performed through Mary Baker Eddy is in my mind proof of what she was doing was working. From the many stories of her character and great love for God and humanity, we can expect but the results she got. Her vision of a knowing all, always kind, merciful, and loving God gave no space for failure. Same for all at all times and never takes away to some to give to others, the spiritually righteous one.
To Mrs. Eddy, the knowledge of God’s concept can’t be limited nor caged in a finite body. It is more important to understand that the kingdom of God is within surer than breathing, is immeasurable and infinite. God is All-in-All. God is the life source of our being that maintains harmonious, uninterrupted health, and wellbeing. God is the truth more powerful than any evil and supports our birth-given rights. God is the Spirit our strength all power always with us. God is the soul bringing individual peace, beauty, and inspiration. God is the love that defeats all fears, dissolves all ideas of imperfection or disobedience, and supplies all needs.
ANTHONY DE MELLO
Anthony de Mello was a prophet, a priest, a guru, a psycologist free thinker who used ideas from other and different religions to make up his own theories. He accepted that his ideas could be changed from one day to the other, and that the lectures he gave helped to clarify and even change his own mind. He believed that having no expectations, accepting life as is were tools for a happy free from regrets and discouragements life. He talked about living life to the fullest being aware of the stories the mind makes up taking life away from reality (I remember comment about boundaries and how people get exited about "their" land) "A free mind lives every second in every second, and that is the secret of living a fullfilled life"
