Hot Springs in Colombia
AGUAS CALIENTES HOT SPRINGS in Paratebueno, Cundinamarca, Colombia. About half an hour from Villavicencio on the road that goes to Restrepo and Yopal, Passing Paratebueno, after about 20 minutes, (there is a couple of good hotels there in case you want to spend the whole day at the hot springs) on the left you can see the sign Aguas Calientes 10 km. It offers medicinal water in different temperatures as well as a place to apply the mud let it dry on your body and receive all the health benefits such as cures at the level of skin, arthritis and some other kind of pain.
HOT SPRINGS IN TIBIRITA Swimming pools with warm warmer and hot
water. A nice ecological path and mud pond. Passing Macheta, the hot springs and the town, a little bit further the Tibirita entrance on the left, but following the road to Guateque for a few minutes just passing the toll booth.
Affordable prices entrance 13.000 15.000, Traditional well prepared dishes from 12.000 to 22.000 . I loved the sancocho de gallina.
CIENAGA, Magdalena, Colombia -An unforgettable trip, about ten minutes from the town, Cienaga, it is also called Volcanoes, no mountains around just the small pool, hot water, and the mud. You can get a taxi to take you there for about 30.000 pesos round trip.
SANTA ROSA de Cabal, Pereira. Colombia -A place worth to see. Hot water all the time, in the middle of the mountains. The yellow big stone, on the right is the hottest place and some enjoy a water massage, people say it is therapeutic. On the other side of the swimming pool, there is a cold spr
ing, and they recommend to take a cold shower after few minutes in the hot mineral water. It is really more than what you can see in here, this is just an idea. There is a good and affordable hotel on the way, Remember to taste the sausages in Santa Rosa, the best ever. Few hours from Bogota, about 6 hours going up and down the hills.

y. A sulphured pond with medicinal clay. They suggest to apply the mud, let it dry, rinse it off, and if you want you can do it again. There is also a swimming pool with regular water just to exercise before applying the mud and a nice path by the river nearby. The price per person 15 thousand pesos, about 6 or 7 dollars.

MACHETA Colombia. Great affordable way to regain some health. From the walking down the path to the exercise in the hot medicinal pools and the cleansing in the steam chamber. Nice place to visit near Bogotá, can be by bus on the Highway North, about one hour. Cool place but the water is hot.
RANCHO TOLIMA, Colombia -In the middle of the mountains in the Cañon del Combeima, excellent to go away from the noise and connect with nature. Taking the exit to Ibague towards "Juntas" continue to "El Silencio" last stop there is parking 5.000 day. From there an hour walking distance or you can rent a horse. At the ranch prices are affordable ex. breakfast with agua de panela and cheese 3000, fresh fish 12.000 etc. It is very cold, they have cottages but not very comfortable (January 2013).

TABIO Colombia -A place to visit when in Colombia, near Bogotá, about forty minutes on the highway north. There is a medicinal hot water swimming pool, but was very crowded on the weekend we went, they say every weekend is like that. Stores in the whole town offer different kinds of desserts and hand crafted items
AGUAS CALIENTES, HOT SPRINGS in SAN FRANCISCO DE SALES 10 minutes from the park through the town to the unpaved road on the left. Drive about half an hour on this unpaved road. Enjoy the landscape through mountains, valleys and a few farms. 15 minutes walking following a path made with stones. It is a very small pond, as you can see and the water is warm and hot near the big stone.
